dbaza's Diabetes Education for Kids Receives Approval from the American Association of Diabetes Educators
PITTSBURGH, PA - November 5, 2002 - dbaza, inc. announced that its interactive educational tool for children with type 1 diabetes, dbaza's Diabetes Education for Kids CD-ROM, received a Favorably Reviewed Status from the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). The CD-ROM was designed to teach recently diagnosed children the basic principles of diabetes self-management.

"We are proud to receive the recognition of an organization that represents diabetes educators around the country," said Sergey Sirotinin, M.Sc., dbaza's President and CEO. "dbaza's Diabetes Education for Kids has shown a level of excellence that only few educational products have attained."

The AADE review process involves a thorough evaluation of the product. The AADE reviewers paid particular attention to the accuracy and timeliness of the medical content; age appropriateness of the medical terminology and graphic images; cultural and gender diversity; clarity and ease of presentation; and use of educational strategies.

The AADE Review Committee Leader commented, "This CD-ROM is an extremely well done audiovisual product that would be worth adding to a pediatric teaching library. I certainly would use this CD-ROM as part of my educational program for children."

According to Sirotinin, "Children with diabetes and their parents often need to spend considerable time with diabetes educators. Therefore, one of our objectives was to create a tool that would help children learn the basic self-management concepts faster, and thus make it possible for educators to spend more time on specific issues that are unique to each child."
